The Global Forest Observatory provides spatial data on the distribution of forest ecosystems and their ecosystem integrity.
Our collaborative projects use the latest technologies and methods to provide data, assessments and insights into forest condition, ecosystem services, the impacts of human land use and forest management, and responses to climate change.
Our projects are focused on the role of forests in ecosystem-based solutions that address the nexus between climate, biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods.
By providing data and information on the distribution and condition of forests, we aim to support informed decision-making for policy, investments, planning and management to drive positive change for people and nature on a healthy planet.
This website was developed to share spatial data and interactive maps from research conducted by the Climate Action Beacon at Griffith University, Queensland Australia, in collaboration with Wild Heritage, and through projects with our research partners
